Tragedy and confusion ensued, and in the aftermath I contacted property managers and old friends on the island to see if I could be of assistance. I was eventually put in touch with representatives of FEMA (Federal Emergency Management Agency) and they have located a displaced kama'aina that will be staying in my unit through August 2025.
