The house is located in the heart of the Old Point neighborhood with moss-draped trees and rich history around every corner. Built by Smalls in the backyard of the big Robert Smalls house, the original footprint was two rooms before it doubled in size in the early 1900s and is the floor plan you see today. The Smalls-Nash Cottage remained in the Smalls family until 2006, and under keeping of the Beaufort Historic Foundation until 2020. Lovingly restored with modern amenities and comforts, the house has original preserved features including decorative double fireplaces with mantles and flooring.
