YOU CAN STILL ACCESS IT FROM THE SOUTH, BUT CANNOT DRIVE HIGHWAY 1 NORTH TO THE TOWN OF BIG SUR. IF TRAVELING FROM THE NORTH, YOU WOULD DRIVE SOUTH ON HWY 101, WEST ON HWY 46, AND NORTH ON HWY 1. THIS ROUTE TAKES YOU THROUGH WINE COUNTRY, ELEPHANT SEAL VIEWING, CAMBRIA, AND THE HEARST CASTLE AREA.
