Located in Captain Cook, Hawaii, United States. Hawaiian home with incredible ocean views, orchids, and gorgeous sunsets Our home is in a rural area of the Big Island, on one acre of landscaped property with orchids, palms, banana plants, a koi pond and more. This is our personal residence, available the months when we are not there. The kitchen is totally equipped with everything but a dishwasher. The house is at an elevation of 2800 ft., so it's very comfortable during the day, with nights usually in the 60's to low 70's. This is rural, about 1 1/2 hrs. from either Kona or Hilo, an hour from Volcanoes National Park. It's quiet, with dark skies at night. The local town is very small, with a few grocery stores, gas stations, restaurants and a few local businesses like auto supply and hardware. Nearest ocean beach is 20 minutes away. The Kahuku segment of the National Park, with great hiking, is 10 minutes away. Our house is in a quiet area, with starry nights and panoramic ocean views during the day.
