Sited high atop the Cahuilla Hills (adjacent to Bighorn Golf Club) and enveloped by the Santa Rosa Mountains, it is only 2 miles from downtown Palm Desert.My aunt and uncle homesteaded this land in 1948 and built the cabin, affectionately known as 'The Bird Cage'. Frequented by movie stars in the 1950s who valued its privacy, it's one of the last homesteads in our area.The Birdcage has one bedroom with a new queen-sized bed, a bathroom with a good size shower, and a living/dining/kitchen room — all with beautiful views.
