The Tugaloo Cabin was originally a farm house located in Tigerville South Carolina and was moved to its current location. Built by the Bartons, an early settler family of the 1700's, the house now resides beside the remnants of the Tugaloo Road. Behind the cabin is the impression of the road which began in Tugaloo Georgia at a Cherokee Settlement. Making its way north through Pickens, Greenville, and Spartanburg counties the trail was used as an animal trace and footpath for the Cherokees. The front porch of this house has such a great feel. Sit out front drinking coffee or enjoy watching the sunset over the valley. The Tugaloo road is directly out front of the porch along the tree line. It runs along the tree line and the side of the house and to the back. A mini split Air conditioning unit keeps the house plenty cool in the summertime and toasty warm during the winter.
