The kitchen is top-notch, well stocked and makes it fun to cook. The hardwood floors bring the woods inside and the gas fireplace in the winter makes it easy to curl up with a book. Each room has its own bathroom and the cottage is designed with privacy in mind. Unusual for a home in the woods to have a lawn, but we do: good for a lawn game or sitting about in the sun. The backyard is fenced in: there is a grill and a portable campfire, an outdoor dining table and outdoor furniture--a perfect outdoor living room. The snow in Michiana Shores is beautiful in the winter. The trees are somber in the fall. This is an all year get-a-away whether you are looking for beach time, cross-country skiing, canoeing, hiking or tennis.Lake Michigan is a five minute bike ride away or a 15 minute walk. We have two fine bikes, beach chairs and an umbrella. A
