Located in the small town of Bergton, 30-miles west of Harrisonburg, VA, our cottage sits atop a bluff overlooking 60 acres of peaceful pastures where you'll enjoy direct access to the German River. Relax on the front porch rockers with a cold drink to enjoy the sunset or hike (moderate hike) down to the German River to search for blue holes for a refreshing swim or bring your fly rods for a chance at a native Brook Trout. (Subject to seasonal water levels that can vary widely. Cannot guarantee that water will be at ideal flow levels during your stay.) The German River is the principal tributary of the North Fork of the Shenandoah River, thus the water is clear. The river is an amazing hike if the water levels are lower.
