One mile to Lane’s Island nature walk. Vinalhaven is a place to escape mainland life and go back in time to a simpler way of life. Slanted floors, galley kitchen with lobster pots and everything needed for cooking. Loads of interesting books and games (owners are book people). In-town, near amenities, ferry. Strict enforcement of maximum occupancy two adults with one child 12 or under. No pets. We limit adults to minimize wear and tear. If you have three adults or more, or a pet, book a larger freestanding house on the island. If you plan to do a lot of cooking or expect a modern place, this is not for you. The kitchen is small. The floors are slanted wide pine. One bedroom upstairs has twin beds, bureau, and chaise longue; the other double bed is at the top of the stairway landing, with a small desk and lots of morning sun. There is
