After the damage from Hurricane Florence we decided to tear down the original “Above It All” and build back a larger, improved version of our Beach House. This is all brand new construction completed in 2020 that retains some of the feel of the original while making huge overall improvements. Being so high up we knew it would be important to have an elevator. Our elevator is rated for passengers and not simply a cargo lift. It traveles from the ground level to the first floor of the house. Access to the second floor is only by way of the stairs inside, or take the more adventurous spiral staircase between the decks. We did make certain to have a master bedroom on each floor and all critical functions of the house, such as the kitchen, living room, laundry, etc. would be located on the first floor for those guest who might not be able to climb the stairs.
