(Within 13 to 18 minutes total drive time to four of Utah's greatest ski resorts). THIS IS IMPORTANT BECAUSE: Sometimes during the ski season when it really dumps, Alta and Snowbird get enough snow that they are forced to close down the canyon road for several hours due to avalanche control. This is not the case with the resorts in Big Cottonwood Canyon, on these days you can just as easily make the decision to ski Solitude and Brighton avoiding Little Cottonwood Canyon closure.
