It was originally built by Swedish immigrants in 1912. Their son and his wife raised their family and occupied the house from the 1950's until 2019 when one of their daughters and her husband took over the property and started to renovate it for rental. The house is located right on Minnesota State Highway 11, between the historic Nelson’s General Store and the Birchdale United Congregational Church and across from the Birchdale landing road, UT 118 North. The downstairs of the house has an open floor plan, kitchen, dining and living room, plus a bathroom w/shower. There are three bedrooms upstairs accessed by steep stairs from the living room.
