Take a day trip to the Pemaquid Lighthouse or Pemaquid beach and enjoy a lobster at Shaw's in New Harbor with an evening cruise on the Hardy Boat. Lots of exploring of the coast of Maine in Damariscotta and Pemaquid area possible and a little further in Rockland, Camden and Boothbay too. While there is no better place to be in the summer, fall is wonderful too. Lots of festivals in the summer and the famous Damariscotta pumpkin fest is in October.
