The age of the newspapers prompted further research of the property, and they found that one of the earliest residents was a woman whose father settled in Brown County around the turn of the century. They discovered the woman's most prized possessions were two small nickels her father made upon first settling. The woman shared this story with her local paperboy, showing him the nickels to teach a lesson about hard work. Thus, the name Buffalo Nickel was adopted.Buffalo Nickel is located on the north end of Nashville, giving visitors a view of downtown from the 300-square-foot deck with an overhanging black locust tree.
