Forbes Park is characterized by alpine meadows, aspen, spruces, pines, some ponds and creeks. Miles and miles of unpaved roads offer plenty of opportunity for hiking.The park is teeming with wildlife. At dawn or dust take a stroll and you may encounter elk, deer and may be, even encounter a black bear or a mountain lion. Hunting is not allowed in Forbes Park; however, it is permitted in neighboring San Isabel National Forest (permit needed). Far away from city lights, you will have an amazing view of countless stars.
