About this property

Located in Arrington, Virginia, United States. Charming Renovated 1930’s Soapstone Quarry Bungalow Relaxing, peaceful getaway in gorgeous Nelson County. Adjacent to a large hay field which leads down to a branch of the Tye River, the cottage is at the end of a quiet country lane with few nearby houses. The newly renovated home was initially built to house workers from a soapstone quarry located on the property, hidden in the woods. During the remodel, we even found rationing coupons from 1945 hidden in the walls! Comfortably blending modern conveniences, including free wifi, with quaint, historic charm, the bungalow is clean and minimally decorated with rustic tree posts, wood clad walls, pretty quilts from Sundance, warm wool blankets from a local sheep farm, and an adorable wood burning stove. We were happily able to save the original wood floors in most rooms. Enjoy your morning coffee on one of the two front porch swings while you listen to the birds sing. In the evening, roast marshmallows in the outdoor fire pit or chase fire
