Inspired by trips to Davos, Switzerland, our grandfather built the chalet in the 1950s to be a family playhouse and gathering spot for his 6 children. It's magic. Today, our large extended family still enjoys holiday celebrations here every year. Our kids love exploring the woodland trails and swimming in Center Pond. We hope you love it as much as we do!Nelson is a quiet hamlet with lots of dirt roads to walk and a friendly, welcoming community. It will fulfill all of your New England small town dreams! There is a beautiful church across from the community mailboxes at the center common. If a game of frisbee or volleyball is happening, folks will probably be happy to have you join. There is a gorgeous friendly library, and not to be missed the longest running contra dance in New England, held every Monday night at the town hall. Nelson is near to a number of NH gems: Mt. Monadnock, Center Pond, Gran
