The Trails Out Lodge is located in the heart of the alpine village at the base of the Glade Trail (hence the name). It was constructed in 1936 for the Fred Van Dyke family, one of the first operators of Timberline Lodge. The cabin features a knotty pine interior and a majestic stone fireplace reminiscent of the stonework at Timberline Lodge. The main level contains the living room / dining area, kitchen, utility room, a bedroom, a half-bathroom, and the main entry foyer. The upstairs contains two more bedrooms and a bathroom with shower. Each upstairs bedroom has air-conditioning for better warm weather sleeping. There have been multiple improvements throughout the years to make the cabin more comfortable, convenient, and safe without sacrificing the work done by the skilled craftsman of the 1930's.The roads to the cabin and parking at the cabin are plowed during winter.
