Cottage End, A Low-Country Island Home

Located in Charleston, Michigan, United States. Cottage End, A Low-Country Island Home Cottage End is a roomy, family vacation house I built for my children and their children. As a lifelong wood worker, I've filled the house with cherry and maple cabinets and ash floors with cherry accents, and exposed rafters under the cypress ceilings. We're located on a narrow dirt road that has Clark Sound for a backdrop. We're on a dead end street so we have very little and very slow traffic. Most of the dirt (sand) street is single wide so neighbors readily pull over to let each other pass.Cottage End has three bedrooms, each with it's own bathroom and a half bath in the laundry room downstairs.. The house sleeps 8 people comfortably. The master bedroom has a king bed. The master is downstairs and has an "open" shower with no curb or curtain. While it was not designed and built for a "handicap shower" it goes a long way in qualifying as Handicapped. There is also a long (6 foot) soaking tub.
