Ray Jester, a Chincoteague Original, who was the owner and manager of Jester Bros. Oyster Company. Born in 1892, he began working the water at an early age - seeding & growing Chincoteague salt oysters. By 1925, C. Ray had a fleet of 3 boats, and was operating the oyster shucking and canning operation here. Ray worked in this €˜cottage€™ office and on the water until he had a massive heart attack in 1953.
